Fuel4kids Public Meeting Success
A public meeting of the 'Fuel4Kids' campaign at the Wallsend Memorial Hall was hailed as a great success by organisers and all concerned residents in attendance.
The meeting heard from parents and grandparents who will be directly affected by the loss of the free breakfasts and breakfast clubs.
Concern was raised of the effect that the spiteful policy would have on the health and wellbeing of children in the borough - now and in the future. The meeting agreed to continue the fight and work together to persuade the Mayor to change her unpopular and unfair policy.

Ask Your Councillors to Support Fuel4kids
Why not go along to your local councillor's surgery and ask them to support the Fuel4Kids campaign.
If you live in a ward where there are Conservative councillors who voted to get rid of the free breakfasts, go along to their surgeries and ask why they supported such a spiteful policy.

Mayor and Conservatives to Scrap Breakfasts from January 2010
Mayor Arkley and Conservative councillors voted to scrap the Fuel4Kids scheme from January 2010. The scheme has proved to be extremely popular with Head teachers, teachers, parents and children. Leading nutritionists and dietary experts continue to link a good nutritional breakfast with improved performance at school.
Dispite other councils across the country introducing similar schemes (including Conservative councils) the Tory Mayor and her Conservative Councillors have put predudice before the health and wellbeing of our children.
The SaveFuel4Kids Campaign has vowed to fight the decision and will be seeking the support of all Councillors who opposed the scraping of the breakfasts by the Mayor and her Conservative Councillors.
